So from there things went downhill – and eventually the understandable drop in John’s work ethic & lack of enthusiasm for the company resulted in him getting fired from that marketing firm… But it was no big deal to John, as he had been busy hustling away on the side & getting clients of his own… Which is when (and how) his career as a solopreneur started.
To be successful with any of these training courses and careers — you need to put in a lot of hard work! Success is not going to happen overnight and to be blunt, it's not always going to be easy. But if you're willing to put in the effort, complete the lessons, and work all the way through the course — you can be successful. If you're looking for an “easy way out” this list is not for you.

You can sell anything online to make money. The better question is what you should sell online that you’re interested in. It also depends on your goals. If you’re just trying to get some extra money now, then clothes and electronics are a good bet. If you want to open a store and sell things online full time, then you’ll need to explore your options based on your interests.
Now, making money online should seem like a pleasurable activity. Why wouldn't we do just about anything to see things through, since it would be a major source of pleasure, right? Wrong. In the beginning, like anything else, we might get really excited about it. We might also set our hopes very high. But that all comes crashing down when we begin to fail.
A short (1 to 2-minute) video that explains who you are and what you do can work along perfectly in your sales page, as this can offer a greater impact. Walk around your neighborhood or town and I’m sure you’ll see tons of great local businesses with terrible design. However, with increasingly easy-to-use tools like Adobe Illustrator, Venngage, Stencil, and Visme, just about anyone with a creative mindset and a good amount of motivation can start making money online by being a graphic designer for local companies.

There are around 25 files of buyers targeting data available for download inside the members area. This is what made the Facebook campaign I ran profitable right away, however it took about $400 in testing to get the first sale. This is not for the faint-hearted as there is some testing budget required. However, I did a lot of mistakes that could be avoided if I followed the training better.
Running and charging for webinars can be a great way to build a following in your niche, demonstrate that you are an expert in your field, and make a profit. Hosting a webinar can be hard work. They need to first be promoted, provide original and valuable information, and include interactive elements so your audience can ask questions and engage with your topic. However, once you have built up a large blog following, each webinar can be extremely profitable.
Mechanical Turk: Amazon's Mechanical Turk is a resource for doing human-intelligence tasks, or as the site commonly refers to them, HITs. You get paid a very small fee for any given HIT and you'll need a good deal of volume to make a substantial amount of money. But it is a resource you can use in your spare time to generate a small income online.
Starting a podcast, like making a YouTube channel or blog, comes down to telling interesting stories and building an engaged audience. I’m probably sounding like a broken record by now, but you need a niche that you’re interested in and there’s already a demand for. Come up with a list of topics you’d like to talk about and then search iTunes charts, Google Trends and other podcast research sites like cast.market to see what’s currently out there and popular.
Giving presentations is another effective way that helps to connect with and expand your audience with the prospect to get more course sales. Simply, come up with an interesting subject (preferably what you do and know best), and use your public speaking skills at local events – seminars, conferences or Meetup groups. But remember, you will need to come up with a speech that inspires and speaks well to your audience.
And while it will take time to build up a big-enough audience to attract advertisers and other ways to make extra income from your podcast, the opportunity is there. John Lee Dumas interviews entrepreneurs seven days a week for his podcast Entrepreneur on Fire and now makes more than $200,000 a month from it. In fact, John publishes all his income online and showed that he’s made almost $13 million since launching in 2012.
If you love to travel and find yourself randomly searching for airfare sales or browsing Lonely Planet, why not carve out a niche for yourself as a private travel agent? My friend, Mark Jackson did just that, making extra money online with his travel consulting side business. Start with word of mouth recommendations from friends who know they can count on you for the cheapest flights, and then move on and create a Facebook or LinkedIn group to invite people who want to stay on top of the latest deals. Eventually you could spin this into a full-time consultancy teaching people how to make their dream trip a reality.
